Our tasting tips

To better appreciate our wines, it is advisable to keep them for some years in a cellar at constant temperature (13 to 16°C).

Optimal maturity is achieved from:

  • 3 to 5 years for Village appellations
  • 5 to 7 years for Premier Cru appellations
  • 8 to 10 years for Grand Cru appellations

These ageing periods vary according to vintage.

Vintage 2024

Characteristics

In 2024 the specific weather conditions impacted yields. We will long remember that demanding campaign, needing a lot of attention from flowering through to harvesting. Faced with low yields, Domaine Amiot et Fils had to adapt. It therefore chose to assemble the parcels of three climats, Aux Charmes, Les Charrières and Les Blanchards, into one cuvée of Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru.

Vintage 2024 is characterized by its freshness and suppleness. Its relatively concentrated wines remain faithful to our terroirs.

Advice

These wines will be better appreciated after some years of ageing, the time necessary to fulfill their potential and for the nose to reveal all its complexity. Neither too little nor too much, 5 to 7 years ageing seems about right.

Vintage 2023

Characteristics

From one year to another, conditions vary and make each vintage unique. In 2023, the heavy rainfall in springtime gave a very early indication of exceptional yields. To ensure good ripening, Domaine Amiot carried out green harvesting during July. In parallel, the high temperatures at the beginning of September favoured the concentration of juice.

In this way, vintage 2023 is characterized by ripe, dense tannins, beautiful texture and aromatic complexity from fruit through to spices. Particularly well-balanced, these wines express our terroirs with precision.

Advice

Wine to drink young or for keeping, this vintage should always offer great pleasure.

Vintage 2022

Characteristics

A sunny year notable for three separate heat waves. Fortunately, some good storms in Morey-Saint-Denis, particularly in June, allowed for a generous harvest at the beginning of September.

Advice

This vintage offers rich and warmly inviting wines. Tannins and aromas reach an exceptional level of quality. You can start enjoying these wines now.

2021: authentic vintage

Characteristics

A more temperate climate returned and we harvested at the end of September. After several early harvest years, we achieved more typical juice again: fruity, supple and balanced. The tannins are soft and the wines have good ageing potential, offering a complex and elegant aromatic range.

Vintage 2020

Characteristics

This particularly early and sunny vintage allowed fine tannins with lovely ripeness to be achieved. The limited yields concentrated juice while maintaining good balance.

Advice

These rich and complex wines can be appreciated in their youth, while having very good ageing potential.
